TweetMiner becomes… Pluggio

Just a quick note to let you know I’ve changed the name of TweetMiner to Pluggio, and to let you know why…

  • Pluggio will soon enable you to manage other services such as Facebook, Myspace, Etc. So it
doesn’t make sense to have a name locked in to Twitter.
  • Pluggio stands for “Plugged In” to all your social media.
  • The features that TweetMiner now offers have evolved beyond the RSS Mining stuff into a fully
    blown twitter client.
  • Although I hate to say it, Pluggio is kind of cute.

Any tweets you post via Pluggio will have Pluggio in the signature and not TweetMiner. The new web
address for the service is:

http://pluggio.com

Yeah, there’s nothing wrong with Pluggio. It kind of makes sense the way twitter works and all the ways it has became better. The name may sound “un” twitterish but the reality is that twitter and tweetminer was simply too similar. I almost thought they were technically the same thing when I first heard of this website.

Pluggio definitely works as far as the overall usefullness. Even though I don’t have a facebook, myspace or other blogs other than twitter, I still think it should work.
